Motor Policies

Following the decision by Jubilee to cease writing motor business from 10th December 2010, the Company, on behalf of the Board, undertook a project to consider the best options for the management of the motor claims run off.

As a result of a full review and subsequent tender process, the Board has decided to fully outsource the claims function by contract to Beachcroft LLP with effect from 1 May 2011.

For Solicitors

If you are one of our existing panel of solicitors this decision will mean:

  1. Where you are handling under delegated authority, cases information on reserve changes and payment requests will need to be sent to Beachcrofts. This includes settlement payments as well as your own fees.
  2. Beachcroft handlers will now replace Jubilee’s for all non delegated litigation cases and all communications should, after the date of transfer, be sent directly to them.
  3. Beachcroft handlers will also be responsible for the handling of all non-litigated cases where the Jubilee panel is instructed such as indemnity disputes, fraud or large losses.
  4. Any cases which are not subject to litigation but where proceedings are commenced after transfer, the litigation will be handled by Beachcrofts. This means that no new litigation will be passed to the panel after the date of transfer, other than in cases of conflict (please see 5 below). If you have been nominated to accept service Beachcrofts will be contacting the claimant representatives to advise that they are now nominated to accept service.
  5. Cases will be passed to Jubilee’s current panel if Beachcroft find that they unable to accept Jubilee instructions due to a conflict.
  6. All MI should continue to be sent to us as per the existing arrangements.

If you have any questions regarding the above decision or changes to the claims handling procedures, please contact either; John Shepherd +44 (0) 207 220 8647 or Jonathan Thorpe +44 (0) 207 220 8741.
