About Jubilee Motor Insurance

History

Syndicate 1231 at Lloyd’s, which would become Jubilee Motor in 2002, started trading in 1997, from its offices in Sidcup and through its presence at Lloyd’s.

In 1998, the Syndicate began trading in Ireland, where it has done business successfully ever since under the name of Asgard. The Syndicate’s business in Ireland represents 15% of its portfolio.

In 2002, the Jubilee Group was formed, managed by the newly established Jubilee Managing Agency.

The Group comprises:
Jubilee Managing Agency
Cassidy Davis
Lutine Assurance Services

In 2003, a team of underwriters was recruited with experience in writing a type of business that Jubilee had not previously underwritten; a book of predominantly large Fleets, written for the National Brokers. A Sub Syndicate, trading as JJS Fleet Underwriting, was established to write this Account, which now accounts for some 35% of the premium written by the Group.

In 2004, John Wilkinson became Active Underwriter.

In 2007, Julian Cashen, who had been responsible for the development of Sub Syndicate 1952, was appointed Active Underwriter for the Motor Business.

With effect from November 2007 Jubilee acquired the renewal rights to the portfolio of Fleet business previously underwritten by Link Insurance This transaction has significantly increased Jubilee’s presence in the Fleet market.
